you did 5 18 mile repeats? so 90 miles? to prepare for 26 miles?
not even 5x8 even makes sense? so 40 miles to prepare for 26 miles?
perhaps you did 5x800 to prepare for jack shit???
34 miles in prep for 50 mile race.

Bro, this workout is the only guaranteed way to break 2.55 in the thon.

No warmup or cooldown??
44mi
32 on a treadmill
3200m
Maybe a few extra meters if you count the jogging done to come to a gentle stop after the race.
16 miles. I wonder what is the over/under for most training miles in a day for those on LetsRun? I would guess I am a bit lower than the median.
16 miles (basically a third of the race I was training for). No shade, hard pavement...it sucked.

Yes. These 18 mile repeats should be done as strides. Don't think intervals. Think of them as an extension of a typical "flying 30s" sprint workout. They should feel very light and relaxed. Don't hammer them. Accelerate, get up to top sprinting speed in the middle of each, then decelerate.
