Is St. Olaf so deep you didn't bother to rank these guys? -- Justin Furcich (26:26), Andrew Plumb (26:40), Dan Buchmeier (26:43), Christopher Brenk (26:54). Furcich did beat your #6 Henschel.
I also wouldn't put Lelinga over Stumbo.

UST passed Carleton in regional rankings. So either DCG and the freshman are both dead or the voters are slaves to results they don't critically examine.
THOUGHTS?
Ustfccca ranking rules. Once October gets here, if a team beats another team head to head...they have to jump them in rankings.
Well I'm just as confused. Why would Luther or St. Thomas make such jumps and teams like Saint John's drop out? Is the Carleton course just that much more difficult that Eau Claire's or was the competition just that much more intense at Carleton? I don't get it.
If courses were close to eachother in comparison, I would argue that Saint John's outperformed both of them, mainly on the basis of their low stick in Burgstahler. (spelling?).
And to drop Carelton so far like that, seems brash... Even if they did lose, it should be obvious that they were sitting out runners (presumably).
Oracle, you should add a regional team ranking to your already thorough individual and team MIAC rankings.
Not sure how these teams get ranked but it sure seems this ranking is way off for anyone who actually puts a little thought into it.1. Loras2. Wartburg3. Carleton4. St. Olaf5. Nebraska Wesleyan----Any of the rest not in order-Cornell, SJU, UST, Luther, Grinnell, BethelI think most of these teams have or will run Lacrosse so we will know more in a couple of weeks.

Good question. It seems that while the pre-season rankings are based on predictive analysis, everything else seems based solely on the team's latest performance, and not taking into account top scoring runners who may be sitting out to rest.Given the process for selecting teams for nationals, it would seem to be important for coaches to field full teams in October when at all possible.
As of today:
Carleton no longer nationally ranked, Olaf drops from 18 to 30.
Thoughts?
Having seen both courses, Carleton's course is more challenging than Eau Claire's. That being said, any thoughts about Wilkinson taking home the dub?

It was cool to see old MIAC faces, and La Mere. Ian ran a phenomenal race, according to the USATF summary, he started to push the pace on the pros at 4 miles and strung the race out. Really impressive stuff.
Lehn found himself in an odd spot with the elite field. Either go out with the pros at 4:46 pace and perish, or run in no-man's land for the whole race. He found some middle ground by going out at 5:00 pace early on, but that wasn't sustainable. Impressive that he was able to put it all together in the end and run 52:xx mid at the end of it. I'm glad he is still running, a talented runner who can make waves on the roads.
Bugler and Feichtinger had good races, too. They and the other Collegeville guys (Joe Reneir & Paul Nordquist *shoutout Gusties) had a nice pack throughout most of the race. I was impressed by the two former Johnnies though. Neither were much for the longer distances and ran 53:xx low for Bugler and 53:xx high for Feichtinger. Impressive stuff on their end. Maybe they were long distance runners this whole time?...
Many more former MIAC runners were in that race, as well. But too many names to note, and I didn't see them racing nor their results. Congrats to all! Keeping the dream alive for D3 runners.
I agree it was a great showing by the MIAC. Dan Greeno (they guy who won) is also an old MIAC guy from Bethel and has been doing well on the Minnesota road circuit for quite some time.
Scherber who is a Johnnie also ran really (just a few seconds behind Feichtinger).
UST over Hamline 19-42... anything interesting going on today?

Link?
So the "invitational" is just a dual between St. Thomas and Hamline over 4K. I guess now we know who the best 2 milers are.
Concordia had a pretty good day with Wicklund running 25:45 and Kneeskern 26:56. Isahak and Larson did not run.

You've been around for a little while and are really familiar with the MIAC.
If you had to make an all MIAC team from the 2000's (or maybe 2005 - present) for either cross country or track, who would you put on there? No limit to the number of names you put down. Just want the thoughts of someone who has seen the many faces of the MIAC over the years.
