I put GOC over IGC purely on this season's results. Tempoing, working out before races, helping out lower kids... all of that gets done by any top guy on a team if they're looking to peak come Nationals. IGC has still looked weak throughout his performances thus far. IGC's speed will come in handy for sure but I put GOC on top from strength.
Kind of like D1 Nats a few years ago, where Tiernan just cranked away in the latter stage of the race, took the sting out of Cheserek's kick and gapped him early on.
I was gonna let this one slide, but I think you need a little lesson, RPI fanboy.
IGC came from behind at Pre-Nats to beat Darin Lau and Dhruvil Patel, two of the top runners in the country. Let's see how GOC has stacked up against those two...
Outdoor Nats 10k, Lau beats GOC by 40 seconds.
Indoor Nats 5k, GOC gets beat by Lau and Patel by 17 seconds.
On top of that IGC beat GOC by 15 seconds in their one head-to-head race this season, so based "purely on this season's results" IGC gets an immediate advantage even if that was both of their season openers.
And yet IGC "looks weak". Good one. GOC is probably a top-5 in the country, but IGC is on a different talent level.
