Gags friend
Good runner. Not sure as coach.
it depends, r u a girl or a guy?
if ur a guy u won't be coached by her seeing as she coaches the women, unless this is caster semenya, then idk
Heard so-so
For an top program and school they seem to have a surprising amount of coaching turnover. I don't know the program directly but it just seems strange given their pretty good track record with results and recruits generally.
My sense is that they were going through a transition phase but are now settling into a new more stable staff. My high school classmate is one of their new coaches, and he is a former Georgetown athlete and this is his dream job (part of their really good early 90s 4 x 800). He doesn't plan on going anywhere.
She coached under two legends in Gags + Centro and was an Olympian, so she obviously has a good background. Have no idea how she actually is as a coach. Team hasn't done that well it seems this year, but maybe due to transition issues as per previous post.
Their men seem to be doing well, but the women not so well. If she is coaching the women?
A good coach becomes a great coach when he or she can dial in and use their own instincts. Olympian or math teacher or just a stay at home mom, if you can use your instincts as well as trust your instincts you are on your way to being a good coach. Instincts come from personal experiences. However, the person coaching needs to be able to to look beyond what worked for them and get to know the athletes. That is key. When you are recruited by one coach and he/ she leaves, then the athlete is left with someone they did not interview and ask questions of. There is an entire recruiting dialogue that is missing. Unless the coach goes thru the interview process with each athlete and understand where they come from and what they want, you can not coach them. It is just a shot in the dark and you can not use your instincts, etc. to progress this athlete thru the years.
so I guess you have some concerns

For a big program like Georgetown, I find it strange that their entire roster and coaching staff is centered around only middle/long distance with just enough sprinters to have a 4x1. They don't have a jumps or throws coach. I'm thinking the McKenzie guy is their "sprints" coach but he also has a mid-distance background. Hmm...
I went to high school with McKenzie. He has a mid distance background because he was talented enough to move up to the 800, but he was a 400m guy at heart.
He coached at the University of DC prior to moving to Georgetown this year and had a lot of success with their sprinters and horizontal jumpers.
Plus, he is a native Jamaican, so he not only is a sprinter at heart, but I expect him to be able to recruit some good sprinters and jumpers.
Still unclear if this potential recruit is a male or female. Men had 4 guys qualify on to NCAAs and the women had 1. Culley needs time to work with the women before we can decide if she's doing a good job or not.
Looks like a solid long sprint and middle distance recruiting class:

Gonna be tough for Julie with the Pete Sherry rumors constantly floating around. Look for the AD to make the change if one or both programs don't finish top 10 in he fall.
you can't be serious. sherry is a joke. the team he coaches in nova is absolutely pathetic, and he has never coached an athlete to a state title or anything of consequence.
Female mid distance/distance
I heard a few girls are leaving? must really not like the new coach

What are the Pete Sherry rumors?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
