this isn't math class, I'm not talking about the transitive property.
like I said, Murphy has a toolbox we haven't seen before. the same clowns that said he would never medal or run under 1:45/44 will soon be eating crow when he shows up Centro
I am actually a huge Murphy fan. I root for all Americans runners. Honestly, I root for most all runners in general. As a realist/cynic,
I assume that all of the ultra elite are cheating so their really aren't any "villains" in my track and field. I digress...
Anyways, let's stick to facts please. Murphy went after the 1500m last year. That is what he ran at NCAAs for goodness sake. He, his coach, and most of LRC clearly thought that the 1500m was where he had the most upside. Then, he missed the A qualifier and had to "settle" for the 800. It was his Plan B. It worked out magnificently and the rest is history.
So, I agree that Murphy has some talent in the 1500. He might go on to break 3:30 one day. With that said, he ain't matching Centro's career. Look at his global finishes. Unmatchable for Murphy. With that said, I think Murphy may end up with a better career than Centro. Just not based on 1500 results. The 800 is his event and he should/will stick to it.
