There are tons of Instagram accounts with people who are product embassador for different watches, shoe brands etc and have average pr's nothing special at all. How do they become a product embassador?

be well connected, have strong social media presence, be attractive, ask
From what I can tell you need to post a photo of every run, add a million different hashtags, and gain a decent following. You don't have to be fast, just need to be able to reach a wide audience. Bonus points if you get your photos reposted by other accounts.
I think it's easier for mom's running with dogs and strollers then it is for guys who run sub 17, sub 1:20, sub 2:50, etc. because regular guys don't post "9 miles @ 7:00 pace today" and get 500 likes every time they run.
You might try reviewing products you already use or posting reviews of your races. Just run a race every week even if it isn't fast and write about how you were tired but fought through to the finish. Then on Monday you can post a photo of yourself and your finisher medal because it's #MedalMonday! 🅠ðŸ…
Seriously though just go take a photo of yourself jumping over a puddle while running with your dog. Add some emojis and #run #running #runner #instarunner #runnersofinstagram #dog #dogrunner #runningwithdogs #dogrunnersofinstagram #instarundog #puddle #puddlerunning #jumppuddle #puddlejump #runiningwithadogjumpingoveraneffingpuddle #inspiration #runinspire #runspiration #areyoustillreadingthese #motherrunner #fitmom #fitmomsifinstagram
Do this everyday for 6 months and the product companies will come calling
Mostly, you have to be really annoying and post every little detail about the challenges your first world problems pose for your incredibly soft training schedule. Then, after a race, celebrate and post about it as if you just set the world record. Also, paying for followers to make your presence look larger than it actually is helps too. Mostly though...you just have to be extremely self-centered and have a largely inflated sense of your ability, some delusions of grandeur, and be willing to sublty mask all of those with seemingly motivational posts that really just serve the purpose to continue propping up your ever-fleeting sense of self-worth.
What is an embassador?

You're really not wrong, because it's not the "speedy" runners that most companies who have brand ambassador programs are looking to market to. I coach several runners who are brand ambassadors for a few products, (shoe companies, nutrition products, socks, etc) Only one of these runners have run in the trials, two were close to the women's standard and the rest aren't even close. But they fit what the different companies were looking for.
So it sounds like if I was able to build up a big social media presence and post often / get subscribers involved I would be on the right track
Well, you could claim that you are going to beat a world record that you have no hope of beating. That will get you the ignorant sponsors.

Obviously a misspelling of the word "salesman."

Remember, you can't spell embassador without emb and ador.
