Hello,
I was wondering if maybe someone has gone through something similar.
About 4 weeks ago I started to experience pain in the front of my upper thigh. I didn't pay much attention to it since I'm used to feel pain every now and then in different places and they normally just go away, so I just kept training. It even hurt a bit while I was walking, normally just during the first few steps after getting up from a chair.
One week after that, I had a 30k long run and I kept feeling the pain but it was still okay. A week after that I ran for 20k at an easy pace, and the pain increased throughout the day. Next morning, I needed to use both of my hands to move my leg and get up. I could walk, but every step was really painful. When I tried to raise my leg from a sitting position, it hurt a lot.
I went to the hospital and they gave me an x-ray, but they only checked my bone and artheries were fine... I spent a week on crutches as a precaution, and then I've been resting for an extra week (2 weeks in total), but I'm not 100% okay.
The pain now is minimum. I would give it a 1 out of 10, but it has been like this for a week, no improvement. It hurts more with the first movements in the morning or after long periods of rest. Leg raise does not hurt. It hurts when I start walking. If I stand on the injured leg, squat and go back to normal standing position, it only hurts when I put my healthy leg on the floor. Lately I've also felt some pain in the upper right part of my buttock.
I'm really desperate. I have a marathon at the beginning of May and I can't stop training. I have a half in a week, but I guess I'll need to skip that...
Has anybody experienced something similar?
