I've been around for decades and this type of progression and the acceleration she's showing...
I really hope she's clean and setting a good example but how has this happened?

Look, anyone could be doped but I have none of my "doping radar" going off on her.
What about her makes you think she's doped? Other than the fact that she's REALLY good.
I mean nothing else is that unusual.
1) She doesn't avoid Diamond League/Championships meets where there is always testing like so many Eastern Europeans.
2) She loses high profile races because she went for broke (Rio Olympics) like you'd think a non doped athlete would.
3) She doesn't race an ungodly amount. Last year, she ran 7 different 1500 competitions outdoors (2 800s). El G was doing 11-12 in his prime.
4) She was very good at a young age and is the age you should be improving. She's 23 now. In 2013, she was primarily an 800 runner and ran 2:00.80 (and 4:07). In 2014, she moved to the 1500 and ran 4:00. In 2015,, she ran 3:58. In 2016, she ran 3:55.
If I told you there was a DIII male collegian who moved was moving up from the 800 and ran the following times for the 1500 during his collegiate career, you wouldn't be shocked at all.
2013- 2:00/4:07
2014- 2:00/4:00
2015 - 2:00/3:58
2016- 2:00/3:55
Jesus, why do you even let this shi+ stay on your world famous message board? At least don't highlight it on the main page.
Wild speculation about doping without a shred of evidence ruins our sport AS MUCH AS ACTUAL DOPING.
Stupid fu
Because we have freedom of speech.
"Freedom of speech"= ability to make wild and baseless accusations of drug use?

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
Just cos some numb nut wants to spout it, doesn't mean we have to listen to it.
This girl is a racer. Lots of guts and goes for broke. You all worship a guy who used to do the same. Back in the 70s.
To ALL of you:
You may have missed the bit where I said I hope she is clean!
I HATE all the doping allegations!
But I know the sport well. Very well.
Can you please explain Laura's sudden progression, which coincides with other Scottish athletes' "explosive" progression?
And yes, I am Scottish and very proud of our athletics' history.
It's just that there is no reasonable explanation for this!

How come that when we got Ovett, then Coe, we suddenly had half a dozen more guys around 3:35?
How come a couple of little towns in East Africa keep producing stars?
Scottish Athletics seems to have had very good management recently, numbers coming into the sport have been rising since well before 2012, there's access to good facilities and coaches, and a lot of local competition in a fairly small area.

You have a point there.
But Laura is not racing Butchart, who's not racing Hawkins...
I will be happy to know what triggered this! I coach young athletes and I want to know what is happening here so that I can pass it on to them.
lol
More than likely she's the clean WR holder for the 1500. Everyone ahead of her has been popped or is extraordinarily suspect. No red flags surround Muir, aside the fact that she's really really fast.

Because both of the first two posts were by Rojo.
And because that's what this message board is all about.

Tell them to dump you, and get a better coach who's not so retarded.

Sadly, practically no accusation is baseless given the huge amount of proven corruption and cover ups that have been shown to have taken place at the top levels of the sport. The Brits, with their proven TUE cover ups are hardly exemplary in the way they compete when it comes to sports.
With all the Lotto money going into athletics in the Uk - and with a recent history of outstanding performances from a number of British female middle-distance runners - it would have been strange if that set up didn't produce a really, really outstanding talent.

Hear, hear!
At 20 she was already pretty speedy for her age (2:00/4:07).
She's doing what young athletes should do when they have several years of hard training uninterrupted by injury - keep progressing.
It's normal and expected in that situation. What shouldn't be considered normal in such a situation is setting a PB at 20 then taking another 6-8 years to better it.
She hasn't had a ridiculous progression. Just one that's expected for someone who works her butt off and hasn't been injured.

This is so true. All we have to look at is a young talented runner with her head firmly screwed on, racing incredibly. We know no details that would associate her with doping.
She wants to entertain the crowds, just winning isn't enough for her. I'm going to fully enjoy it. I'll let the sceptics rage anonymously.
lol you guys are morons
the scots are all on it (new regional pharmaceutical, look it up) and upped some igf-1 lr3. defending muir is defending the wholesome white girl who works hard and 'gives her all' lol gimme a break she's a doper, it's the recovery and smashing of records in meaningless indoor that is red flag - they'll be popped soon enough don't worry :p

I think maybe if she was so desperate to win at all costs then maybe she'd become a full time runner. Do you not think that being able to sleep more rather going on veterinary placements would be a bit of a boost to her recovery?
Except Rupp has a bunch of sketchy connections while Muir doesn't.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
