A few years ago i believe it was fall of 2012, I interviewed Chantilly HS for a running magazine and I remember thinking Sean McGorty was ok, but I liked his younger brother more, so it was cool to hear about his brother making the news here and there.
I hear last year he came #2 all time in something according to the Washington Post but they didnt clarify and my #1 source of information about a decade ago would have been MileStat but MileStat no longer publishes information unless you pay for it.
All I know is that McGorty got 2:24 in the Millrose games and that sounds less impressive than I would have thought because, Alan Webb got 2:23 running solo without a banked track (perhaps, McGorty should get credit for doing it earlier int he season? although I believe Webb broke the 4 minute indoor mile at Millrose). For example, knowing that fellow Virginian Drew Hunter set a national indoor mile record last year, I don't think McGorty will make his heart on state industry
Do you think this guy, for example, can break any records in the 1K or 800 or mile (it's hard to do any of these things for Virginia since we have some big names who ran here) or join the sub-4 club?
Can anyone clarify what he did his junior year that was so notable?
