That has to be a different Zach Miller. That is equivalent to a 10.7 100m.

Jim pulled out of TNF 50
Why would someone go out and race two weeks before to earn $3,000 when two weeks later they could earn $10,000?
Afraid of competition? Doesn't want an extra $7,000? Does this make sense to anyone?
Why don't they just win both? Maybe they don't like $13,000? Think it's unlucky maybe? Why doesn't this someone just go win the Dubai Marathon since it has even more money. Maybe a communist I really do not know.
Can anybody back up that Jim dropped out? Probably a smart move by him. 2 weeks isn't enough unless your name is Mike Wardian
It's on irunfar.
Looking forward to seeing what Coree Woltering does, that kid is making some progress this year.

Already called it. Can't perform under pressure. Time trialist. No big wins against competition this year. Don't be deluded by his shenanigans.

him avoiding or perhaps just coincidentally not runnign against competition doesn't take away from his running abilities, it just doesn't add to them... he's still better than 100% of the field

I think he was delusional about winning both. Supposedly he's wicked talented but not too bright, case in point.

Actually pulling out of the race was a smart thing to do. Rob Krar dropped from JFK at 40 miles in 2013 and then won TNF 50.
Pretty sure TNF 50 is less runnable than JFK. JFK would suit Walmsley a little better. There might also be that JFK/military connection as to why Walmsley has run and won JFK the last 3 years.
If he is ducking competition, it has worked as he will be Ultra runner of the year. Or maybe all of the competition is ducking him.

Jim is very blue collar and I think him one upping Max King's record there at JFK was important to him that winning TNF 50. Also, maybe he saw some of the competitions track bot PR's here and thought it would be more fun to spectate than too race. I hope it's a total upset now and one of the euros wins while all the N. American guys go into the well. Not, really but it could happen.
Nothing wrong with Walmsley thinking that he could do both JFK and TNF50 after how his year has gone, as long as he was willing to assess his readiness and not force things. Following him on Strava, it was clear just a few days after JFK that he wasn't recovering as fast as he did after the Grand Canyon FKTs and some of his other recent races. His legs/body likely made the decision not to race this weekend for him.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
