Not really, David. I did similar training last year for Richmond, but not quite as fast, as I was in clearly better shape this year. I actually did more 20+ mile runs last year for Richmond--five vs. three this year. And, most of all, I got very sore in my lower abs last year, three or four weeks prior to Richmond, and did not feel that good going into the race. I felt much better this year, and more rested, too.
I know my body well. I know how it feels when it is going bad, and when things are going well. I worked hard and felt great this year. I will finally be blunt and say: I should have done much better at NYC. Period.
