ITU triathlon training is excellent training for running.
The women usually run between 50-60 miles per week on top of swimming 25K meters and cycling for 8-9 hours. However, the cycling training is polarized. Shorter, very high intensity intervals, or toodling around at a very low power. Running fast is what wins races, so they have a running program pretty similar to pro runners.
What really kills high end running speed is long distance bike training. Elite long distance triathletes will often cycle up to 15-20 hours per week, with tons of hard climbing and long intervals. You can't do a lot of fast running on top of this.
I think that time is amazing, but you actually might see her slow down if she just switched over to training for running full time.
