The Dutch goalkeeper had been a surprise addition towards Toffees squad this summer, Ronald Koeman taking the ex-Ajax stopper with a permanent deal from Fulham next Tim Howard's departure.
It had been anticipated that another keeper could well be incoming but Stekelenburg has managed to get clear that he is here at Goodison Park being the club's new Not any. 1 - and it was a performance to suggest that he may be relating to the sticks for the Cheap Fifa 17 Coins.
When Everton came underneath the cosh in the second period, the 33-year-old stood sturdy, making an excellent save to deny Vincent Janssen, and adjusting his body well to tip the deflected Erik Lamela effort on the crossbar. A very solid debut.

Ahmed Elmohamady has been an important player for the Tigers with recent seasons, whether from right-back or about the right side of midfield. With Moses Odubajo set for the spell on the sidelines using a knee problem - as well as given Hull's injury woes - he was back at right-back for your visit of champions Leicester.
And up against your tricky Demarai Gray, Elmohamady defended resolutely. He read the sport well, picking his moments whenever to tuck in alongside his defence and once he could march down the correct and support the invasion.
His performance was typified by Hull's winner, where Elmohamady picked through to a loose ball to help regain possession, got it back from the final third and whipped more than a low cross that the Foxes failed to cope with - allowing Robert Snodgrass to be able to secure three points.
