Who started the "GOES HOME DEVASTATED!!!" thing?
Where is the first post with this phrase?

Not sure, but it could be sprintgeezer. And if it wasn't him, he at least gets credit for making it so commonplace.
Kali
A better question...who was the FIRST runner to go home DEVASTATED?
The brojos, but I take partial credit. During the 2013 US Championships they wrote an article that said "A, B, C, D - who goes home devastated?" (Don't remember the names but it was the men's 1500 I think). Then I started creating topics titled "X GOES HOME DEVASTATED" every time someone didn't make the team or got eliminated in the heats and a bunch of other people did so as well.
I really hate this trend, can you stop please?

I don't know about runners, but Broadsea definitely went home devastated after his discus competition with Odysseus.
Who started the devastation? Exxon Mobil when they covered up the climate science reports.
Sprintgeezer, it had to be him. He'd use that well before the brojos and the rest picked up on it.
That's racist.
Better question "how was the first idiot and why does he have followers"
"Goes home devastated" is as stupid as "I'm Rick James, Beetch"
Most were right that Wheating would go home devastated in 2013 - 4:01 in the final - I don't remember. What happened? Did he fall?

That's some good history right there.

Wrong.
He must be getting things mixed up. Sprintgeezer's phrase was "Down goes ________! Down goes ________! Down goes ________!"
It was in 1948 when the Chicago Tribune ran its famous headline "TRUMAN GOES HOME DEVASTATED!"
