I mean, holy smokes. I would MUCH rather be in the first heat.
I mean, holy smokes. I would MUCH rather be in the first heat.
That's the craziest seeding I have ever seen:
http://trialsresults.usatf.org/
HEAT 1
LN/POS ATHLETE
1 Graham Crawford Unattached
2 Sam Prakel Oregon
3 Ben Saarel Colorado
4 Izaic Yorks Unattached
5 Craig Engels Ole Miss
6 Kyle Merber Hoka One One
7 Duncan Phillips Unattached
8 Robby Creese Penn St.
9 Brandon Hudgins Unattached
10 Isaac Presson Unattached
11 Colby Alexander Hoka One One / NJ-NY TC
12 Thomas Awad Penn
13 Daniel Winn Boston Athletic Association
HEAT 2
LN/POS ATHLETE
1 Frezer Legesse Under Armour
2 Robby Andrews adidas
3 Johnny Gregorek ASICS / NJ-NY TC
4 Andrew Wheating Nike OTC / NIKE OTCE
5 Matthew Centrowitz Nike Oregon Project
6 Jordan McNamara Nike OTC / NIKE OTCE
7 Ben Blankenship Nike OTC
8 Dorian Ulrey Brooks / BROOKS Beasts TC
9 Matthew Maton Oregon
10 Leonel Manzano Hoka One One
11 Dusty Solis Big Bear TC / New Balance
12 Eric Avila Hoka One One
Heat 2 has the top 4 from last year, plus Wheating and Ulrey who have made US teams in the past.
Heat 1 doesn't have anyone who has ever made a US team or even threatened to.
Also, I noticed in the prelims that the 5 runners with Olympic standards were divided in heats 2 and 3, while none were in heat 1.
Did you just cite Ulrey?
Hey, Ulrey made a World Championship team before.
No one in heat one ever did.
The seeding is base on times from the preliminary. They "snake" the seed times.
It actually evens out because the guys in the first heat have to contend with Sareel rigging up and pinballing around track.
completely agree. might as well just call Heat 2 the final.
No one from heat 1 is on drugs. Let's call heat 1 the clean heat and heat 2 the dirty heat. Separate finals
Yorks and Merber are the top guys in Heat 1. Engels will be DFL as usual.

top kek

Yorks is in the easy heat. Would he be in the hard heat if he had a different sponsor? #thinkaboutit #runcrappy

That is really funny and I think even Sareel would get a kick out of it.
Now Engels is really happy.

Pardon, I mean Saarel. Sareel sounds Moroccan or something. I am guessing Saarel is either Norwegian or Swedish.
That's what she said.

Yep! Looks like Ole Miss coach hooked up Engels YET AGAIN! I hope other athletes in Hayward are talking about this. I hope they investigate this malarkey going on with Engels the Ole Miss coach. Bunch of fooey.

This is the price for simulating the Olympic schedule.
It would be inappropriate to seed the semis on anything other than prelim performances.
Lol at the ole miss coach dictating the exact time everyone ran in their prelim. Brilliant. Can she coach my Knicks?
you just gotta put on your tinfoil hat man!! (Re: Engels)
Ok but seriously, the guys in the first heat need to haul some serious a$$ because the time qualifiers are definitely coming outta heat 2 otherwise.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
