Could somebody explain to me exactly what the summer of malmo is and what to do for it?
Could somebody explain to me exactly what the summer of malmo is and what to do for it?
And could somebody else explain what a site search is for?
When i look it up the sites i find doesn't explain it well. I was wondering if someone could summarize what it is

When you are ready to learn, a teacher will appear.
It's a summer training plan for fall races. I don't know specifics, but it involves running twice daily pretty much as often as you can handle at your fitness level.
I have tried googling it in the past and I had a similar issue, no good results really come up.
It is all things to all people. A better question is, what isn't Summer of Malmo.
Google "Summer of malmo site:letsrun.com" Boom! You get a lot of forums on this topic
Here is the SOM thread (with the history of the original SOM)

SOM Q & A

Read what I wrote, not what you think I wrote. Pay attention to the Q & A.
Should mid-distance runners(800/1600) do the summer of malmo or does it only help longer distance runners?
I usually lift twice a week during thesummer. Would it be better just to run?
Also, I run track during the summer and my mom usually takes me to the closest track meet regardless of if there is going to be any competition and I've been trying to get her to drive me to the bigger meets. What are your thoughts on racing hard over the summer? The smaller meets end up being more like a tempo run but not hard to win. Thanks!
Look up Herndon Ten Miler 1982.
I know you posted this a long time ago I'm just about to finish my first year of track and field in highschool as a freshman I did XC, winter track and currently doing outdoor. I'm trying to prepare to train in the summer for my next cross country season I have some really big ambitions and I want to improve a lot. I want to do SOM and this will be first time doing it this summer.
1. I did around 10x400m repeats in cross country and i was running around the low 70's and high 60's I would say but I don't know for sure
2. The tempo Runs I've done are usually around 2-3 miles and I've done them around 7:15 pace which I could probably go faster I haven't really figured it out to the best of my ability
3. I haven't really done a lot of 200m repeats so I don't have a good answer but I remember being around 30 seconds for some before
4. In Cross Country I did mile repeats four of them at 6:30 pace or a little lower
5. My best times are 5k: 20:32, 1 mile: 5:12, 2 mile: 11:42, haven't really ran a 800m all out but for time trial i got a 2:27, 400m: 57.2
What if what we think you wrote is more accurate than what you wrote?
