Hi incredibly understanding and never cynical Letsrun crowd,
I'm a Leadville 100 rookie who is coming from the flatlands (midwest) to run his first 100m this summer in the mountains.
I'm looking for a pacer to pull me through the end of the race.
As I mentioned, this is my first 100m and I have no idea how my body is going to react at that extreme of an altitude.
I was a decent runner (Big Ten, but never ran much faster than 25 minutes for the 8k) and am now nearing 30 years old. I'm past my prime but want to give ultras a shot before I get into triathlons soon.
I've run several marathons, all at or under 3 hours, and am running my first 100K on Saturday on a rolling course to try and get my nutrition under control, all in a zone 2 HR.
I don't really have any time expectations for the big race except that I want to finish and do so in under 24 hours at Leadville.
If any locals read here and are up for pacing me on the way down, let me know. I'd be grateful.
