that sounds like hell
I would be able to do the 200s and maybe the 80s but couldnt even race any part of the rest of the workout

Nothing special, just a typical workout.

What happened to all that bullshite about CV and high end aerobic?
Is there any evidence that this workout is actually true? I can do the same thing. Two weeks ago, he ran:
3 mile threshold in 14:58 (3 minute recovery)
3x1000 at CV pace in 2:53, 2:55, 2:52 (1 minute recovery between, and 3 minutes after)
6x400 in 64, 62, 61, 60, 60, 57 (1 minute recovery)
Just as plausible a workout, and entirely fake.

What do you think 4:50 pace is?
I could do both of those workouts in my prime (they would've require quite a bit more effort than it does for Drew). They're just a combination of different training paces for his fitness level. Nothing special.
maybe he will get luckie and get hit by a car going down Maple Ave
This is all vintage tinman mid to late season work for a very advanced athlete. Less advanced athletes would have done fewer and or shorter reps, but the workouts would have targeted the same intensities.
I like the way his coach is holding back. This is not blasting like I expected to read when I saw the post. Especially from a 1:48/3:57 guy

What do you think 80's at 25 sec 200 pace is?
The previous threads were hyping just 10k pace nothing harder

Those recoveries are very short though.

Well, that's not Tinman training.

yes, one workout during racing season is an accurate representation of the work done over the past year to get Hunter to this point.
drew posted this workout on his sweat account, I don't know how to internet link to it

Well then how's this different than what other people are doing? And why call it Tinman Training, like it's something special?
Why not just say its training and stop making a big hairy deal out of it.
Ihmels is in Boise and producing quality female runners. Does he call it Ihmel's Training?
Why the freaking hype?

A lot of people on LRC seem to think the CV article meant that's ALL Hunter does. No, it's just a staple workout. No legitimate training plan is devised all around one type of workout. However, his plan does contrast with others that emphasize a lot more of the kind of workouts this thread is describing throughout more of the season,
Isn't CV basically the sub-LT training that Marius Bakken was promoting after his college days when he got down to 13:06 for 5K? He used to ratchet down to just under his threshold on most days, thereby raising your threshold over time. I actually was able to test it out over 6 months, and it seemed to work pretty well. You can get in very good shape without doing any actual speedwork.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
