Do they mail those medals anywhere in the world?

I like how race entries are non-transferable. How hard will it be to monitor that

So you can pay Disney $39 per "race" or $142 for 3 races (even though 39*3 - $117 and not 142) to run a 5k (or 3) on your own as one of your normal training runs? Great idea. Why didn't I think of that? If anyone wants to pay me so that they can do a training run, let me know.

So you get to pay $142 to run a fake race? - they don't even verify the run? What? That's expensive for a real race.

Well, if they can get away with it, fine. Good for them, I guess, though I would be embarrassed to take those people's money.

If they really wanted to be clever, they would make this a marathon. Remember, they're not verifying the run. Just mail out marathon finisher's medals to anyone forking over the dough. Said people can then show their friends that they finished a marathon. "And I have the medal to prove it!"

I love how the rules all say "Proof of run not required."

I also love the computer-speak "virtual run." Maybe calling it "pretending to run" would make it too obviously silly.

I'm going to break the American Record for 10 miles this way.

If there's a market they might as well exploit it while they can. This not only panders to the social media running community but also the die hard Disney fanatics that will spend money on any collectable. Willing to bet a good percentage that sign up aren't even runners and just want the Disney Medals. Overall it's a pretty ridiculous concept but if there's demand for it you can't fault them.
