We need to use more specific verbs when talking about running.

maybe you do, but most non mentally challenged people can grasp what he's saying.

Actually, I'm not exactly sure what the OP meant. Is he asking how fast Lagat will run or if he will win the race? Maybe the OP is wondering if Lagat will break the masters WR. Maybe he's wondering what tactics he will use.
"What can he do? 27:30"
Seems pretty clear to me. Maybe I'm clairvoyant.
Question is...will he break top 10?
These early season distance centered meets are mostly glorified time trials and not real competitions. The post was obviously speculating about time.
Will split 14:00/13:00 for a 27:00

He's asking what he can do in the race. That could be all of the above.

The question was very clear to anyone who isn't autistic. Sorry.
Correct. The question is "what can he do." That can mean all of the above - time, place, etc.

I believe the lesson here is to be specific when starting a new thread. Otherwise, your thread gets hijacked with people debating what you meant rather than, well, what you meant...
1st place sub 27. Maybe even AR. LAGATS BACK BABY!!!! thread to follow.

He was specific enough for every non-mentally challenged person. The lesson here is to ban the obnoxious nitpicking thread hijackers.
!
Ok, I will give a non sarcastic response in respect for the original post. I think he is CAPABLE of 27:15-20, but I think he will run closer to 27:40. I predict 27:39. It all depends on the flow of the race. He won't do any leading til the last 200. May be around 27:45 if that's what they settle into. Maybe he implodes, but I doubt it.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
