I'm after some advice. As these are mainly used as distance runners' racing shoes, I thought this would be a good place.
I'm looking for a shoe that would suit base sprint work. By this I mean:
- tempo strides, and a bit faster, maybe up to 400-800 speed
- a fair amount of volume. Spikes not normally used when more volume is being done, to reduce stress on lower limb and the chance of injury
- plyos, speed bounding etc. It can't simply be a very soft, light racing shoe, because it won't offer much support or rebound when doing plyos
- shorter sprints and acceleration, though obviously not as fast as would be done with spikes. But runners will get up to 95% max
- generally, some of the support a normal, heavier training shoe can offer, but lighter than a usual training shoe. So a good balance of the two
- ideally, some arch support
The ones I have found that look the most suitable are:
- Brooks T7, 6.4oz, seems to have a decent midsole but maybe less support at front of foot
- Adidas Adizero Adios Boost 3 - 8oz, seems to have better bounce back, slightly heavier
- Adidas Adizero Takumi, 6.1oz, similar midfoot support but maybe less at front of foot, and of course lighter
- Nike zoom streak Lt 3 - 7.4oz, possibly less support
As you can tell from my comments, I'm leaning towards the Adidas Adizero Adios Boost 3. Can anyone comment on any of them based on experience?
