Big news! For those wondering, yes, it really was on a hunting trip (I initially assumed BW was being satirical).
What does this mean politically? Obama is president for 11 more months...congress can't stall a new nomination for that long, can it? If it tries, what does that mean for the Court? Can new cases be heard in the interim?
Was he shot in the face by his fellow draft dodging coward Dick Cheney?
A great evil has left this world and has just begun an eternity in the fires of HELL.

There's that liberal love we've come to expect.
Big deal, he had different political ideology than you...and look what you wish for him.
Actually I'm surprised you make mention of Hell since I'd almost expect somebody of your ilk to be an atheist,

The Senate could stall that long. If it was the house, I would expect them to do just that. I would be mildly surprised if the Senate did not give a hearing to an Obama nominee. A hearing does not guarantee a confirmation, though. I perceive some risk to Republican party prospects in the Senate if they appear too obstinate though. They are mostly playing defense on Senate seats this year.
Supreme Court business will carry on uninterrupted. There is a significant chance of 4-4 splits on some major issues.

Every republican, Scalia included, hates Jesus and hates America. Of course he is in hellfire right now, and I hope that it is agonizing.
Does anyone think Ted Cruz won't filibuster any potential nominee, especially if he is no longer in the running for the Republican ticket? He blocked the ambassador to somewhere like Norway for several years as a protest to some unrelated issue.
Hmm.
I did a google search "site:letsrun.com libtard" and got 1500 hits.
I agree with you that vitriol is out of place. But your righteousness on behalf of the conservative "ilk" is not quite honest either.
I don't expect the Senate would confirm any Supreme Court appointment by Obama in the time remaining. The next president will make the choice.

Political name calling doesn't equal truly wishing somebody eternal damnation.
At any rate, there's plenty of "Nazi" and "Fascist" insults hurled towards conservative viewpoints on this site, so don't act like it's a one way street.
Whether they approve or block, it's all good news for the Dems.
Doesn't matter if anyone wishes eternal damnation on someone as evil as Scalia, he's in hell right now no matter how much we pray for him.
Antonin Scalia brought the wrath of God down upon himself by his actions and thoughts. I feel sorry for him, but he had to choice to be righteous or not.

Oh please. Let me guess, when Ted Kennedy died, you were all respectful?? LOL!
I'm glad that A-hole is dead. Truly glad. WTF, he was 80 y.o, anyway. I wouldn't say I was glad if W., Cheney, Clarence Thomas, Cruz, or several other right wingers I can't stand had died. But Scalia?? He was a grade A A$$HOLE, homophobic, racist, POS of who didn't respect his colleagues or the court at all. He didn't respect anyone but himself. F-ck him.
I did not like Scalia's judicial opinions and philosophies one bit, but those of you that are whooping about his death are real shits.
Rot in hell.
You seem to not know the meaning of the terms you use or the individual you criticize. He was very well respected by others because of his respect for the court.
