In what way? I remember 2012 being quite like today. Hall looking very comfortable, like Rupp, then deciding to make a big decisive move, like Rupp, and then cruising in the last 1.5 miles comfortably, like Rupp, while sill running faster than everyone else, Like Rupp.
Sure the time was faster but he wasn't running on blistering asphalt with a u turn a quarter mile befor the finish and an elbow turn 100 feet from the finish.

You don't remember 2012 correctly
I thought today was very exciting actually. It was pretty cool to see it come down to Meb and Rupp, the young and the old. Of course, it wasn't that way for very long but it was neat that it happened to be those two that it came down to, instead of like Rupp and, uh, anyone else.
