I am American, descendant of the Baluba people that covered the Congo and many east African places, one important thing, most of the Europe dominated slave trade of Africans from east Africa were classified as Angolan slaves, the Arabic slave trade came together with the European countries because of trading in the Middle East, as a result, in the late 1700s the Africans found out that the people were being taking from the land which weren’t what they knew of, and it was not a sale of people if so how rich would they have been or they would not have subjected their own people as was the case 90% of the time, their positions was against the ruling families only because of war, it was not against the people they needed to conquer because tribes increased in that fashion, as a result, wars start against Europeans and Arabic when the issue became known, so Arabic became the Captures and European became the buyers, if you look at the many anti-slavery movements that were hidden by Europe for years, they classified many Arabic people there as African Muslims to keep the “selling their own” a live! The Baluba were pushed south to the Congo area a long time before the upemba issue, but it was because of wars, they originally were Shulammite from northern Ethiopia, they went south and united tribes and were successful until the late 1800s. As a result, most of the Arabic were considered Kiswahili people (Muslim) and they conquer Swahili lands. So, if you study the Angolan slave trade, which was meant to be confused for the very reason to keep it going even illegally after slavery with illegal slave ships coming to America and all over the world.
