How old do we think he is, or is he not an age cheat??

I would say 24 -28
Assuming he's actually a grandpa like many claim, I'd guess 45 or so. He should just admit it so he can get some sick masters records.

Stop exaggerating! I am so sick of the haters on LRC! There is literally no way he is a day older than 42.
Officially Cheserek has turned 22 today.
2 February 94 Age: 22 years Happy Birthday!
So we already know he's old fo rhis grade as most college juniors turn 21 during the year, not 22.
There has been a lot of speculation over the years that he might be older but no evidence.
I think we need to get evidence one way or the other. Do we know what high school he attended? We just need to figure out what grade he was in Kenya when he last attended school in 2009-10 and we can get a good idea of how old he is.
Kenya is big on national testing. Seniors (form 4 students) take the KCSE test in December each year. They used to published their national KCSE scores on line but I'm can't find evidnece that they do anymore.
If we could get a copy of the 2009 KCSE scores/results and find that Cheserek is on there, that would be the ultimate smoking gun as if Cheserek was a senior in Kenya in 2009, then we know he's way overaged.
He could still be older than he claims but not have taken the test in 2009. If he was a HS junior in 2009-10, he's still be older than he's listed.
Does anyone know if lying about his age would impact his citizenship application?
Honestly, look at his dream mile when he was a sophomore in high school. He looked...young. Definitely not 19-23 years old. Also, he improved a ton when he got to college. Some 25 year old age cheat wouldn't do that. I think he's within a year of his stated age.

If the previous statements from Kenyan runners are to be believed (they more or less claimed that in Kenya, their level of schooling is a bigger factor than their age), then Cheserek probably has no idea what his real age is.
That being said, given his level of improvement the moment he got to college, it's very unlikely that he's excessively overage. The chances are, he estimated his age, at some point in the past, and it's likely fairly close to his actual age.
Additionally, I really doubt that he ever had the idea of intentional age-cheating in his head at any given time. Age cheaters typically take advantage of age-restricted events (World Youths, World Juniors, etc.) which Cheserek never even bothered with, and he was also under intense scrutiny for being overage for his grade (a situation that no age-cheater would actually put himself in).
This has been discussed so many times.... The area he comes from in Kenya has good birth records. His age is legit.

He's old enough to be your daddy. On the oval.
He's at least 30, though the NOPe Dope, Centro Sauce and Oregon Juice have aged him beyond that.
Some websites list it as 1993

I don't think that Cheserek is an age cheat. And even if he is actually older than reported, I would find it hard to believe that he competes with the intention of stealing titles from younger runners... he is simply a world-class athlete.
He's 25

No one is accusing him of being an intentional age cheat. They just want to know his real age.

Your mother probably has a good idea. Ask her!
