I know people here talk about Coe vs Daniels vs Lydiard but I'd like to know where the following type of training comes from. When I ran in a track club, the training went like this: First several weeks easy jogging, then slow hills twice a week, then 2 x 600m & 2 x 400m with 4 minutes rest, then 2 x 400m with 4 minutes rest & 8 x 200m with 2 minutes rest then most of the rest of the season with 8 x 200m with 2 minutes rest twice a week. The last workout of the season could be 4 x 200m with 30 seconds rest. Does this belong to any of the above or does it come from a generic coaching manual?
