I have trained all summer for my first marathon in October. The race is in five weeks. Do to major pain/blood blistering/infection from Adidas shoes I had to have my big toenail removed earlier this week. I was up to 17 miles on my long runs but have not been able to run since Saturday. The missing toenail still hurts a bit. Can I still do the marathon? Will losing a week's fitness with five weeks out make it impossible? I am hoping to be able to run by Saturday.
