This basically ends Farah's shot at GOAT status. Unlike Geb and Bekele, he is unwilling to push a fast pace. Looks like all this guy can do is sit and kick. Not an all time great if he can't even run a fast time.

Nonsense.
Geb didn't push the pace when he had 2 other guys on his a$$. He pushed the race when, and only when, he knew no one else was competing with him for the win. Geb was even more a sit and kicker than Mo is. Incredible athletes, but Geb was hardly known for "pushing the pace" in a tight race.
It must be sad to be so childish
Pathetic.
Gets towed past 5k, then refuses to push pace BUT then whines like a baby about a mediocre time?
Classic NOP.

I agree, but Geb more than made up for this by frequently going after world records (not to be confused with world bests). How many world records did Get set?

+1
Yes, Geb went after it when he wanted a WR. Otherwise, he sat on someone's shoulder, let them do the work, then blew by them for a the win. Unless they took off and left him behind, in which case he threw in the towel and walked to the finish. :)
I'll give farah this. He shattered the wr for being the most pissed off after winning a a 10k and running 26:50. Admittedly I'm not sure what the previous wr was.

What pace was it at 5km?
Geb had Tergat, Komen and others to push him. Other runners need to work on their kick or try to drop Mo. He is not in top shape to run his fastest time now anyway & will be looking to peak for the championships
I wonder if you would critise him if he were American. Actually you probably are one of those wankers knocking Rupp for his Silver & putting it down to it being a soft race.
Just accept you are a looooser like the rest of us and stop trying to project your own failure onto someone else
Was he too pissed/whiney to do his "mobot"?
If so there was a good thing.
When Mo runs a 1/4 of the fast races that Geb put up through his career, we can talk about GOAT ideas. Medals and wins carry weight, but consistency, performance and competitiveness have to count too.
Just look at annual bests, as a starter:
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/ethiopia/haile-gebrselassie-8774#progression
vs
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/great-britain-ni/mohamed-farah-179892#progression
and realize that Mo runs 2, maybe 3 fast(ish) races per year. He's dipped under 13min THREE times. Haile did it THREE times in 1998 alone:
2 12:39.36 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Helsinki 13.06.1998
5 12:41.86 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Zürich 13.08.1997
6 12:44.39 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Zürich 16.08.1995
24 12:49.64 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Zürich 11.08.1999
58 12:52.70 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 2 Zürich 14.08.1996
66 12:53.19 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Berlin 01.09.1995
79 12:53.92 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Oslo 30.06.1999
83 12:54.08 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Zürich 12.08.1998
90 12:54.36 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 2 Saint-Denis 04.07.2003
95 12:54.60 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Nürnberg 13.06.1997
110 12:55.14 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Berlin 26.08.1997
122 12:55.51 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 London 30.07.2004
165 12:56.52 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Berlin 01.09.1998
173 12:56.96 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Hengelo 04.06.1994
180 12:57.23 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 London 08.08.2003
207 12:57.95 Haile Gebrselassie ETH 18.04.73 1 Zürich 11.08.2000
I don't think I've ever tooted Haile's horn much on this board in my 14 years posting, but this GOAT discussion for Mo is wayyyy premature. If he keeps winning and running 3:30/7:30/13/sub-27/60 and eventually some sub 2:05's, it can be discussed. Until then, he's a guy with a lot of hardware wishing he could have run with big dogs.

Relax, bro. You seem to think this is about Americans hating Brits. It's not. Nobody thinks of Mo Farah as British.
The fact of the matter is Mo won all his medals at a time when the talent level had/has been washed down a bit and the consistency levels amongst his competitors were questionable (look at the ups and downs of the Ethiopian guys since 2011). In Geb's prime he faced stiff competition, especially Paul Tergat, consistently.
All Mo does now is sit and bitch if someone else didn't pace him correctly. People just don't race like they used to. Just sit and kick races. THe 5000m at the Pre Classic was pathetic. Have some balls and run the race like it was meant to be run - especially at PRE's home track.

Once, when Komen ran him out and broke the WR.
Don't have a like or dislike of Mo, but these are races, not time trials. The point now any race is to win. He is allowed to be disappointed with his time, and as anyone with any intelligence knows, there is a lot more to running good times than effort. If Mo weren't part of the NOP you tools wouldn't b1tch about her nearly this much.

Basically ain't officially. It won't be official until some here posts that it is.
This officially ends Farah's shot at GOAT status. Do you feel better now?
