I can't think of a worse 500 mile stretch, and I have been all over the country.

Jersey Turnpike is the worst. There's a reason they call it the "black dragon." Combined with the Joisey deriving etiquette and the fact that most people in that state mistakenly think that they could have been racing drivers, had they so chosen, it's the worst. Boston has the best drivers in the world.
Nope. Drive through Ohio from Cleveland to Cincinnatti. Holy crap, just kill me already.
I went to the bathroom to take an Ohio...
....or Indiana, for that matter.
Ohio State Motto: It's not Hell, but you sure can see it from there...
The 400+ miles of Nevada along I-80 are worse from my perspective - pure drudgery.

Correct, Touchdown Jesus was built for that reason
Yes. DC to Boston is the worst torture you could possibly put yourself through in a motor vehicle. I recommend leaving around 8 pm and driving overnight if you chose to go this route. Better yet, fly.

Boston has the most annoyingly slow drivers in the world. I've never been in another city where people just drive like they have nowhere to be.

LOL
East Coast drivers are generally among the worst in the US, especially mass-holes from Boston. But Easterners usually have inflated views of their prowess, which is to be expected from most of the inhabitants of the North East. That said, the worst traffic is easily S. California, and while Asians truly are lousy drivers, the Hispanics in CA are breathtaking in their poor judgment and overall low skill set behind the wheel. They are the worst in the US by far. Best are the rednecks from the South.
I've driven all over the country and I remember this one as the worst. It is painfully slow with no real reason why. It is as if they filled the road with people who truly have no destination and they all certainly drive like it.
Give me I-10 westbound any time. Lightning fast. 80mph minimum required.
Start 50 miles south of DC to add in the hell of northern VA traffic and at least 13 VA tools that go 55mph in the passing lane...

This.
Not that many people care but Richmond to DC may be the worst. I live about 40 miles south of DC and I-95 is my personal hell. Seven days a week you can plan on one thing-don't plan on getting anywhere on time.
not as bad since the express lanes opened.
San Diego to LA would give it a good run. Use to fly this instead of drive back in the day when a cheap turbo prop could be flown between the two. Dead stopped traffic from 15,000 feet doesn't look so bad.
So cal is the worst. All of the drivers are horrible and angry. You cannot use a turn signal to change lanes because they will literally try to ram your car off the road. Then you have to sit in traffic for an hour and they tailgate you 1 foot behind your trunk and the car next to you plays obnoxious music with the windows wide open. It takes me an hour to travel 10 or 15 minutes regularly.

RIP
Atlanta is the worst. In one night I almost ran into a guy going 40 in a 65 and another almost took me off the road changing lanes. I've never drove in another city as bad, But yeah as an Ohioan its terrible here. I-70 and I-75 suck. If the boredom doesn't get you the cops will. Speed traps and construction every where.
Where are you from so we can include you in the insults?

I am not asking what city has the worst traffic. That might be LA, or DC. I am asking for a comparable stretch of highway. DC to Boston is pure misery. I don't think the first 30 miles into Connecticut has ever NOT been under construction.

(1) Great places to train in Lovelock, Winnemucca, Elko.

Real America dude.....learn to love it. If you want a starbucks every mile, stay home.
Worst drive in America: Most any highway in the Los Angeles area about 5:30pm. I tried living in the LA area for a couple of months, but I quickly learned that you have to plan your life around the traffic.
