Some have said the 1500m is too long to be run purely on hate. However, for my last collegiate race I plan on giving this a shot.
Advice, insights, warnings - all welcome.

I wouldn't vote against it. Other LRC posters have run 800 on pure hate and they were back end of the crowd, somewhere near 3 minutes. Assuming you are a respectable LRC poster, you should only have to generate an extra minute or so of hate. That being said, I would consider running on pure dislike the first 400 just to be safe, but hell, it's your last race, go all in.
Possibly consider a hate date to celebrate, assuming you have any more hate left to function at that level.
I had to throw in a google search to catch the reference. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Disagree with first poster. You cannot run a 1500 on pure hate. Only the elitest of the elite could even think about lasting a whole 1500 on pure hate - and I'm not sure it's been done. Save your hate for the 8.
Thank you for the advice. I get the risks but I just cannot bring myself to deny the carnal spark that unbridled rage will give my from the gun. I'm going with PURE HATE from when I toe the line. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Side note: looking for hate inspiration - Obama the classic, but he's too boring to inspire such hatred in me now.
Save the hate for the last two laps. Hopefully the race goes out tactical the first 700.
You can't run 1500 on pure hate. It just can't be done.
If you need inspiration, just imagine that you've just run a huge PR in this 1500, and you tell someone about it, and they say, "Have you ever run a marathon?"
Maybe this is why jamin specialized in the 8, 'cuz he's filled with self-hate?

You don't have much hate in you.
Always run on hate or @ least run for a fight, determination or pure heart..:)

There was a hippy kid on my college's team this year. He's a complete idiot, wears nothing but pasta and tie-dye, and has long blonde hair that goes down to his mid-back. Anyways, this guy was a total tool to me all year because we had really similar times (I was a freshman, he was a senior) and he didn't want to be the slowest guy on the team. (I'll admit that after cuts, we were the two slowest guys left who ran 5K/10K) He stole a lot of stuff from me and a few other people too, and was a habitual liar. He just made up stories about everything, and never shut up.
Anyways. at the last meet of the year, we were the only two from our team competing in the 5K, with all the really fast guys going for either the 15, 3k Steeple, or 10K. I was feeling like shit all day, and seriously considered scratching. Then I realized: He's a senior. I can't let him beat me on his last track race ever. So I toed the line and went out in a 4:42 first mile (Previous PR:15:47 (roughly 5 min pace) and just kept imagining the look on his face being the slowest person on the team for 4 consecutive years. By mile 2, I was feeling it hard, but was still with the 1st pack. I crossed the 3200m mark in a 4 second pr from high school, and was not doing well. But right at this time, I can see this kid dropping back from the chase pack; He's on his own and hurting too. I keep with them, for the next 1200, and with 6 to go, we've almost lapped him. I kicked harder than I've ever kicked before with the only intention of lapping him before I finish. And with less than 50m left I lap him, cutting him off as intentionally and disruptively as possible, and race to finish while he still has another quarter riding the pain train. I was seeded 28th and ran a 31 second PR to finish 7th. He was seeded 27th and didn't even break 17, finishing in dead last.
Also my new girlfriend (We'd been going out for about 6 weeks, and I hadn't had a relationship since HS) decided that she wanted to get back together with her ex for the summer and dumped me 2 days before the meet, so I had an absurd amount of anger from that. I had been sitting in my room listening to punk rock and brooding for hours on end the day before.
And that, kids, is how I ran a 5000m on pure hate.
So yes, I seriously recommend running your 1500m on pure hate. Just make sure you have an object or person to manifest your hate into. If you don't know anyone you hate in the race, find the douchiest looking runner and tell yourself, "I don't care if i end up in the hospital; I'm going to beat him." and just do it.
Now, that's some good hating.

When you break the tape, turn back and scream "gobble gobble..."

Hate your lack of self-compassion and compassion for others, leave your fears outside the arena, and do something for yourself that will give you the courage to help another human being when fear might otherwise keep you from acting. "Slam the door and run out into the sunshine."
That.
Was.
AWESOME!!!!
It's obvious none of you have ex-wives, because if you did you would know that if you had one you can run any distance on pure hate.
Unless she is faster than you too!
Oh the humanity!
Your thoughts and words are inspiring. A little over an hour until my race. I'm starting to feel mild disgust for those sitting near me at this meet.
Good, good... Let the hate flow through you!
