OK, how long will it take Dial It Up to come back to Brady's defense?

Of course he's guilty. Belicheck too. But it doesn't matter. They would've beaten Indy with a frisbee. The question is, were the balls deflated against Baltimore in the divisional game? There it would've been a factor.

Agreed it was more relevant there.
But I just love how D.I.U. so mindlessly and contemptuously defended Brady and the Pats at the time. Standard D.I.U. stuff.

Of course it matters. Just because cheating didn't affect the ultimate outcome of the game, then it isn't really cheating? Come on. Read the entire report. There are some pretty damning text messages between two individuals in charge of equipment that clearly show that 1. Brady knew about the deflating and lied through his teeth, and 2. It had been happening all season (one guy called himself "The Deflator" in an October 2014 text).
So how many close games were tipped to the Patriots due to the ball being easier for Shady Brady to grip and throw? The worst part is how Brady lied on national TV about it. Disgusting. People on these boards get whipped into a frenzy at the mere sniff of a marathon cheater. Wonder if we'll see the same level of indignation at this level of cheating that ultimately resulted in a Super Bowl win?
His obsession with Brady is even weirder than when he talked about teabagging Jesus Christ.
He'll defend cheaters but do that? Weirdo
If Brady was a runner, would he fake a BQ effort?
On the point of whether or not Tom instructs ball boys to purposefully deflate the balls after initial official checks it looks like I was dead wrong.
On my main point about whether all QB's manipulate footballs to their preference that is still correct.
Will be interesting to hear an official response from the pats on this as well as whether anything comes of it.
"More probable than not" is hardly the language someone uses if they have any kind of proof of guilt.
Moreover, the text messages do make Brady look bad, but they in no way show that Brady ordered people to cheat by deflating balls below the limit. That is quite a leap.
Finally, Brady tore it up in the second half against the Colts and against Seattle, so claiming the inflation level of the balls impacted the outcome of the Baltimore game is ludicrous. Brady, like all QBs, has a personal preference on balls and apparently is a bit of a dick about it. Personal preference does not equal competitive advantage.
I'll tell you what is cheating: piping artificial crowd noise into your domed stadium when the opponent has the ball for TWO YEARS!! And what did the falcons get? A $350K fine and the loss of a 5th round draft choice?? Clearly preventing the opposing team from hearing their QB's audible calls is a competitive advantage. Yet no one seems to give a crap because the Falcons suck and they are not the Patriots. Can you imagine the outcry if the Patriots did that?
Nope.
Brady may have wanted the balls at the minimum but the weather could have taken them down another 2 psi.
For his punishment, Brady should have to give up Giselle. To me.

Did you read the report?
Brady guilty in inflategate.
So now you are saying he deflated and then inflated the balls? Sounds about right.
So this is surprising why? Pats and Brady are and have always been cheaters.
The real question is not whether Brady knew about this. It's obvious he knew about it. It's also obvious that Brady obstructed the investigation. The real question is whether Roger Goodell has the chops to mete out any significant punishment.
The incident doesn't have to rise to the level of proof that would be needed in a criminal court.
Goodell suspended Greg Hardy for 10 games for a domestic violence charge that was later dropped for lack of evidence from the primary witness. Still, regardless of the merits of the Hardy case, that incident had nothing to do with the outcome of the game itself.
Deflating the football is messing with the integrity of the game. I'd like to see Brady suspended for 10 games without pay and the Patriots forfeit their number one draft pick next year, but I suspect it will be closer to the equivalent to a parking ticket. Probably a fine of $50,000 for Brady.
That would be the equivalent to a parking ticket to Tom Brady. His salary for 2015 is $14 million.
From the way those texts read, Brady was playing most of the season with balls that were actually inflated three times more above his preference (around 16 PSI) than the deflated balls were found to be in the Indy game. Those ball boys don't sound like his biggest fan.
It's pretty clear Brady requested the balls to be deflated. Whether he asked them to be deflated below league minimum doesn't seem clear.
In regards to whether this constitutes cheating, I'm still undecided. It seems like the PSI is not as standardized in general as the NFL would have us believe. Did the ball-boys routinely inflate those game balls above 15 or 16 PSI in order to mess with Brady? Possible. If they didn't, then why are we believing anything else in those text messages? The two possibilities that I can see are that this falls more on the general jackassery of the two ball boys who messed with game balls beyond what was requested of them, or this falls into the category of casual text messages being taken as gospel truth. Neither of these seems particularly damning to me.
If the balls were deflated, the officials should have called a penalty during the game. If they missed the call, it's water under the bridge now.
Everybody lies. What world do you live in?
Why hold Brady to a higher standard than every politician in this country?
Why don't they just allow all quarterbacks to have the ball inflated to their liking?
It's not like a baseball. It makes sense that baseballs must all be the same size, weight etc.Talking baseball, all batters aren't required to use the same bat.
People lie. That's a fact.
How many other QB's alter the ball? Probably a lot.

Hey, I want in on that punishment
I hope everyone calling "cheat" here will also call every runner that:
1) Cuts in without a full stride (8 foot by rule)
2) Elbows out of a box
3) Moves to lane 2 to keep a runner out on a homestraight
cheaters as well. Everyone posting here should be in favor of Greunewald's DQ in indoors last yer. If you agree, that's totally cool; keep roasting Brady. If you do not, you are hypocrites.
(BTW- If you agreed with ROJO on not DQing the Kenyans for relay zone violation, same principle.)

Not to mention that anyone who has ever driven over the speed limit is a criminal.
