Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Could mean they want to live longer to enjoy the rich and fulfilling lives they have outside of running.
Or they just can't improve enough to win races, much like a 2:28pr.
You don't recognize the value in health? Man it's too late for you.
Running for health is completely different than running competitively. Less mileage and less obsession over a training schedule. Making room for cross-training activities that would promote overall strength and flexibility. Running also helps improve circulation and keep weight down. Psychologically, running helps you de-stress and can become a social outlet.
You ought to work on your competitive running. I don't care if it is an 800 or a marathon, 2:28 ain't much to talk about in the competitive running world. That won't even get you an 800 win at the local middle school meet in my neck of the woods. If you're referring to the marathon... you might have a shot at a crappy jogger marathon. I won a few of those after college with times in the mid 2:20s. Now I JUST RUN ON PURE HATE. It's good for my stress levels.

Thanks for the advice. The 2:28 is for the mary.
If you aren't running for health, and you are running slower than me, then why are you running?
Help me understand.

Running burns calories, which keeps us from being fat. In a food plentiful society with lots of good restaurants and leisure time for cooking, its hard to eat a sedentary person diet of around 2000 calories a day. Running allows someone to eat more than that and enjoy the benefit of not getting really fat.

That's exactly what I was thinking. But 4/10 is too high even with the responses that he got. He put no time or creativity into the body of his post. 2 or 3 at the most........ the topic was effective but the letsrun crowd can not resist responding to the arrogant fast guy poster.
(Even if they know its a troll)

"Mary" was the other tip off.

Yes Mary was pretty obvious. I have to rate the letsrun posters 2/10 due to rampant gullibility. Back in the day (5 years ago) they would never have taken the bait, gotten hooked and have been reeled in so easily.
3/10
I'll give it a couple points because it made me laugh a little. mary. hah!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
