I would say so, but at the same time there's been a lot of 3:39's and after Payton Jordan there should be some more as well
I think he's going to be on the same boat as everyone else once the final comes, who has it on that day??
I would say so. More than just running those times, he has beaten Rotich, and McGorty pretty handily. Right now he can probably kick with almost anyone in the NCAA
Go bears!
Doesn't look like he has a lot of leg speed, Has he ever run the 5K? Looks like a natural at that distance

I am more concerned about his ankle-speed-velocity myself.
Based on his high school performances you would have expected him to be a 5k/10k guy by now.
4:11/mile, 9:03, 1:55, 15:20 XC at state.
That he is running 3:39 is nothing short of astounding. Also very strange is his XC career considering he was good at it in high school.
Does it ever get old constantly searching for each and every thread regarding Cal just to tear them down? You know damn well that 3:39/3:58 is relatively uncommon for any "miler" no matter what they ran in high school - much less a 4:11 guy who only ran that once near the end of their senior year. Sorry you got cut dude. Move on.
uh actually his thread involves no tearing down. and it actually makes a couple good points.

A cursory google search has shown that last year he ran 13:57 at Payton Jordan. Seems due for a big PR.
I think I see another entry for the Oregon/Villanova walk-run event at NCAAs this year:
For anybody who doesn't think he can kick, watch the video.

This guy is the real deal.
Poor Zatopek got his lunch eaten with 100m to go.
Who's the blonde at the start of the front straight away?
Also was that 3 Cal guys all around 4:00, including Joyce at 3:58? Seems good for the school. Throw in 1 4:20 miler and they could give those Duck losers a run for their money in the 4 x mile, especially if Ches is too afraid to run a hard leg.
Wining heat 2 in 13:34 5k at Payton Jordan yesterday was ok.
Bump
Dude is a baller
dude has taken down some serious talents this year. hasn't lost a race outdoors yet. gotta put him down as one of the best runners in the nation
#4 NCAA in the 1,500 and #5 in the 5,000 on the NCAA leades lists, Which event will he run? Dude is legit. NCAA finalist last year in the 1,500.
No kidding. Cal is #4 in the NCAA for Olympic Medals.
GO BEAAAAAARS!

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
