I'm a teenage 800m/1500m runner who would like to move up a distance next track season, for several personal and preferential reasons. I have a 1:53 and 4:00 (focused more on 800m) respectively, but believe I have greater potential in the 3000m and 5000m and believe it's the right time to transition. I therefore would like to have an off-season setting me up towards those events.
My question is: with regards to periodization (specifically - when to do what session), training methods, specific sessions, mileage and other aspects, what is YOUR opinion on how to make this transition???
Also note that I already have a 5km/10km (15:50/34:00)
