Hello,
I am a former college runner and am now on the overweight/slightly obese spectrum. I just turned 26 and am male. I am 6'2" and weigh 230. I was previously at 260 this past June. I last ran competitively in the spring of 2008. I quit running after my freshman year of college and binge drank and ate terribly for the last 7 years. I was drunk just about every night and smoked a lot of cigarettes from time to time as well.
I have not had a drink in 35 days and don't plan on doing it again. I am watching my diet but not really strictly.
I have been a hobby jogger now for about one month. I am at about 20 mpw with a 5 mile long run. I am running painfully slow (about 9-10 min miles).
I need cyber coaches to save a life and get me to love running again.
My (old) PRS:
5k- (XC) 16:41
10k (XC)- 34:xx
3200m - 9:57
1600m- 4:38
The big question: Is running a 3:59:59 marathon possible for me by November? If so, can someone please guide me through it? I even wish I could make a Youtube documentary series about my journey back from obesity. If you think 3:59:59 is not optimistic enough (I really have no idea where I could be by November) please give me a realistic goal.
Thanks
