ok, enough with the over 40 shit, Lagat is now the WL over 3000 meters
Well there's on thing to know about this town, it's 500 miles underground.
wow! daddy can still kick!
Were it not for Mike Boit 30 years ago, I'd think there was something super fishy. Though, I must admit, this still seems too good to be true.
Jeez. This guy is just phenomenal. 7:37! I don't know what more to say about him...
So where's the front page story, this is way bigger news than a Coe interview
yahoo france says Bernie just clipped Koech

Sorry we've been having snow here and the power has been going out. I almost had results up 5 hours ago but lost power.
Here are the leading results.
1 7:37.92 Bernard Lagat USA
2 7:39.68 Paul Kipsiele Koech KEN
3 7:42.65 Nixon Chepseba KEN
4 7:43.77 Bethwel Birgen KEN
Coming into the race, Eric Jenkins had the 3000 world indoor lead at 7:44.91 (Farah split 7:33.1 hand time).

Nope. Farah split 7:33.
You all do know he was 39 last year ran really fast too. Enough with the Masters stuff, dude is world leader at the moment.
Do you also know that he is 40 yo! If you can't comprehend how crazy that is, we understand!

Anyone know if Lagats running the Carlsbad 5000 again this year?
I know this question has popped up on the MB before, with little resolution, but:
How old is he really?
Before you freak out (I remember a thread on this at some point with all kinds of anger) I do not intend to lessen his accomplishment but quite the opposite. This should be obvious since no Kenyan or for that matter anyone I'm aware of in any third world setting who is involved in sports has ever claimed to be older than they were. Age lying is ALWAYS (when done by athletes such as Kip) to claim you are younger than you really are.
So, impressive as he is, is this an even bigger deal since he's likely 42 or 43?
Or do you, the board peanut gallery, really believe that Koech, Gebremeskel, or whatever 'Junior' superstar really can go 13 flat or 2:05 prior to being 18 1/2?
you are right! :) 42, maybe 43
it's insane!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
