I really want to go sub 2min in the 800m this year and its my last year running since Im a senior. Since i have started running as a sport my junior year my PRs are as follows:
5000m - 16:20 (Senior year XC)
1600m - 4:35 (Junior year Spring T&F)
1000m - 2:41 (Senior year Winter T&F)
800m - 2:04 (Junior year Spring T&F)
400m - 54:12 (Junior year Spring T&F)
I think my stamina and endurance are ok but i think what i really need to focus on is my speed. My goal is to run around 1:57-1:59 this year. I feel like i need to bring down my 400m time a bit to do this. Does anyone have any advice on what workouts, training, and splits i should hit? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
P.S. I know i should talk to my coach and i will, but i just want to hear other opinions as well
