Who?
It will be a crappy election cycle without him.
Jimmy Stewart?
And which one is the Daily Show? Is that the one with the fat chicks?

True, but he's lost some of his creative edge and often lately he seemed like he was forcing it. Time for Jon to move on, recharge his batteries and return to something great. I will miss his genius.
The way he avoided criticizing his friend Brian Williams exposed for lying just shows that Stewart is just a corporate sellout.
politics just got a lot more boring and lost a crucial sh... detector.
Hope he finally goes back to MTV...where he was actually pretty good.
He's gone. Good riddance.

Agreed. He's been an unfunny try-hard for a long time. At least Colbert was funny.
Remember when fox noise developed that funny news satire from a RWNJ perspective? Yeah, neither do I.
About freaking time is my thought. For a good 3 years now you could see his heart is not into it.
Thing is, that show is the best idea for comedy that's ever been dreamed of. All you have to do is present the real news. The comedy is handed to you on platter. Somehow he managed to mess that up because it hasn't been that funny for awhile now.
I was genuinely sad when Colbert left. His show died with him.
I honestly believe Stewart was just an intelligent comic with a great writers room. He wasn't some savant. I mean, John Oliver picked up seamlessly when he filled in for him. I think the show will survive.

Colbert could think on his feet better than any human being I've ever had any exposure to. Jon Stewart was funny but relied on the same stuff over and over again. I liked him, but he was definitely not as good as Colbert. I actually haven't watched much of his show the last few years as I no longer have cable and never see clips of it online anymore.
I feel like the end of the Stewart/Colbert duo is actually a pretty significant event of my lifetime. I hope something decent replaces it. So far I'm not liking John Oliver very much, though I think the content itself is great. I just don't think John Oliver is funny or has "it."
He should get into politics since he loved to skewer them and gave the impression that he knew what to do. So smart. So smug.
I will miss him. His show made me feel like at least not everyone is crazy. I don't care if the show was sometimes just "Hey look at these crazy people. They're crazy huh?" It was satisfying, almost soothing.
Bunch of haters on here!

He didn't avoid criticizing him.
He made of fun of him, like he does with everyone on his show.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb-U6R9-pCYIt has been clear the past few years that the demands of the show were getting to him. He has a family and is getting older. Comedy Central is losing the war with streaming video, even though Comedy Central has some amazing new stuff like Drunk History, Broad City and Workaholics. He will probably transition to a Bill Maher-type show where he can do some sharp political stuff once a week. While his comedy lost some energy, his political interviews made Meet the Press and other political shows look like bad infomercials.
What is really amazing about Jon Stewart's tenure at Comedy Central is that he launched so many great careers:
Steve Correl
Stephen Colbert
Ed Helms
Rob Corddry
John Oliver
Lewis Black
John Hodgman
Larry Wilmore
Kristen Schaal
Mo Rocca
Demitri Martin
That is pretty amazing considering how little screen time the correspondents get on the show compared to Saturday Night Live.

Instead of watching what someone said Stewart said, watch the actual clip from the show. Stewart basically used Conflate Gate to make fun of the media for not asking the right questions about WMD in 2003. Essentially, he was questioning why the media was scrutinizing Brian Williams when it failed to scrutinize Dick Cheney and others about WMD in 2003.
