How many people secretly wish Webb will eventually come back to running? I can't be the only one.

Browsing thru the results, especially the 10k, why did he run this race?? lol. Was there prize money, or was it sponsored by a charity or organization he supports? so uncompetitive. Cool to see him do this, but you'd think he'd want more competition ya know?
Guessing that Kevin Kemmerle was bitter. A couple of nice wins taken away by a former elite just happening to show up for the race.

Perhaps he doesn't want more competition because then people (or himself) would judge him as a runner again? He obviously could run US road championships or decent college meets and get pushed, but then it cause people to compare him to other runners again. He also might get sad feeling like "hey I used to beat these people" and compare himself now to his old self.
With these small races, he can feel good about being a fast triathlete, as opposed to a mediocre runner (compared to other professionals).
But I feel you. I wish he ran USA XC nationals or would run club cross or something. But I can understand the mentality of why he wouldn't.
Webb cut the course. I am the real winner
Yeah true man good points. I guess I didn't think of it like that
In a couple of years he may be doing the kids 1k fun run to prove he still has it.
With those times, I hope he did a 50 km bike between races.

He walked away with two plaques, a mug for finishing top 10 in both races, and a free pancake breakfast. Event is sponsored by IHOP. Draw your own conclusions.
If you want to follow his serious racing, he starts his triathlon competitions in March. He is already something like #140 in the world in ITU points after only half a season, and could definitely move into the top 50-100 if he keeps up the pace.
He did run club cross last year. Got smoked.
nobody truly knows the depths that webb will go to in order to get free pancakes. btw, totally unrelated (sorta), anyone remember that time that webb brought a keg to a cross country meet in the back of his truck? that was frickin awesome. webb fan for life yo!

He is training out here. He ran a NFL alumni 5k last week with a training teammate in around 15 flat. According to what I overheard when he was talking to him teammate last week hi efforts are supposed to be hard. Draw your own conclusions.
Webb must have set a record for the most rapid drop in V02 max of a former elite.
WEBB IS BAAAAAAAAACKKKK BABY!!!
When are Americans gonna realize Webb was never a good runner. Was he ever close to a medal at worlds or Olympics?? He ran one good mile. Get over it. Any 2:10 Kenyan could run a 15:02 and 31:02 back to back as a training run.

You say "any 2:10 Kenyan could do that" like it's a bad thing...

Really? Never a GOOD runner? That's babble. His record speaks for itself.
