I sure hope he can do it and quiet all of those people that think that he has sold out by running ultras. If he does I hope that all of you guys that criticize will back off. Go Sage.

Err, no
We'll be surprised if Hall breaks 2:10
Can Sage Canaday break 2:10 off 56 miles a week with some 5:20 miles thrown in?
Where's the mileage and where's the blocks of mileage at 4:58 pace?
He could do the training? What's stopping him? Probably an injunction, or a
script in his brain, not his talent.
Sage has enough lifetime mileage that he should be able to run 2:15 off of no training.
It's going on 4 years since he slid under 2:17 by a few ticks
No. He doesn't have the body or the training to do that.
Good runner whom I respect, but 2:10? No.
And he'd tell you the same thing.
He said on one of his youtube videos his goal is 2:18 so he can the Olympic Trials Qualifier
The question should be, Can Sage run under 2:20 and can he beat the top females. Come on let's talk about some good runners for a change.

The question should be, who on letsrun can beat Sage in a marathon.
here's the video
In the make believe Ultra World, 2:17 is considered good. You know how in D3 if someone breaks 30 minutes for 10k they consider them great? Same thing. If the local mom and pop 5k is won in 18 minutes that guy is a superstar.
Yes, because 2:17 in the marathon is slow. I am pretty sure most people on here would be happy to be that slow! I wouldn't diminish times that you cannot run. Although they might not make someone world class, they certainly are very fast and worthy of note.
Pudge is going to be extremely lucky to break 2:20 and should be tickled pink IF he does so.
Sage doing as great job as OP to generate some buzz for yourself. Maybe you start talking about yourself in third person. Too passe" eh?
He was a 2:16 marathoner while with the Hansons and he said he didn't like some of the things they did and felt too tired going into many marathons due to a big workout they would do a few weeks before (16 miles at goal pace) and he coaches himself now, so he ought to be doing what works really well for him, and I firmly believe that he knows what that is. You know your body pretty well after 16 years. I personally don't think he is gonna break 2:10, but have no doubt he will OTQ.
Do you think that 65 miles a week in January is the way to go? 2:19 women
were running 160-180 miles a week.
Doesn't matter what training he's doing, there's no way he's getting anywhere close to 2:10 or 2:17 for that matter in Hokas.
Ok, last 2 weeks were just under 100 each week for Sage.
I asked one of the Hanson's if Sell was doing a 150 week, how many could he do at sub 6. He said 100 of them. And Sell ran sub 2:10.
You know he was injured and backed out of Houston, right?
Thanks, that explains the 37 mile week.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
