i don't recommend running outside in BJ. there really is just too much pollution. you'll regret even one run. my friend ran 3 miles our first week there and spend the next 2 months coughing. stick to the treadmill.
The pollution seems very variable. I was there for a couple of weeks earlier in the year and it was fine. It was blowing an absolute gale all the time which apparently is good as it keeps the smog levels low.
You will need to find some kind of park or track though as the roads are absolutely INSANE! I cannot comprehend how anywhere could possibly be worse in terms of traffic-I actually really loved taxi journeys as it was so crazy you could not help laughing. What about running around your University campus? I suspect it will be pretty big.
Regardless of the running, you will have a great time. people are fantastic, I felt perfectly safe in town (apart from crossing roads), and the food is tremendous
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
