I'm wondering what a good goal time would be for my freshman year in college. I know I'm running 1500m vs 1600m but it's easier to set a 1600m goal, then convert it. My history:
year 1600m PR training
Fr HS N/A didn't run; didn't train
So HS 4:45 no summer training prior to XC; 1 yr XC
Jr HS 4:33 45 mpw summer + 1 more season XC
Sr HS 4:17 45 mpw summer + 1 more season XC
Fr Col ? 75 mpw summer + 1 season college XC
I'm also lifting, getting excellent coaching and training with guys that are faster than me, all for essentially the first time. The volume and quality of my training has increased tremendously since late August.
I'd love to break 4:10 in the 1600 or even 3:50 in the 1500, but I think a more realistic goal would be 4:13 / 3:55.
Is my goal too aggressive? Too easy?
