Just finished my Sophomore XC season yesterday. Going to take 5-6 days off and start my base training for Track. I don't have a distance coach for the winter until first day of Track season in middle February, so I am looking for opinions. Thanks in advance.
Background:
9th Grade XC Hip Bursitis PR 17:30 (hardly no running that summer)
Winter started slow because of injury worked to 36 mpw
9th Grade Track 4:40 Mile & 10:10 2 Mile (only ran once)
Summer got up to 44 mpw
10th Grade Cross Country PR 16:40
Goal 10th Grade Track: 9:45
Plan:
Sunday 10-12 Mile Long Run Easy (7:45-8:00 pace)
Monday 6 Miles Easy (7:45-8:00 pace)
Tuesday 8 Miles Total Warm Up 3-4 Mile Tempo 5:50 pace
Wednesday 6 Miles Easy Stride 6X (7:45-8:00 pace)
Thursday 8 Miles Steady State or Light Fartlek Workout
Friday 6 Miles Easy 6X Strides (7:45-8:00 pace)
Saturday Off or Stationery Bike
Want to build up to 55-60 miles plan to add two early morning easy Runs to build up mileage.
Also, going to continue drills, strength training
Please let me know what to add/subtract for this plan and if you think 9:45 is a good goal to shoot for. I really love running to means everything to me and I really want to make the best out of this winter, so any advice will be appreciated. If you need additional information I will be happy to provide it. Thanks
