wow
Love that photo, thanks! Such simplicity, starting with the shoes.
I recognize him more by his legs in that photo. Long and lean. Perfect for distance running. Ed is such a natural runner. Great photo.
look like the Hyde Park Relay. How did your team do Ed?
Talk about droppin' someone! Ed's haulin' toward the finish!

Yes the 1952 IC relay race, just about to cross the Serpentine bridge about 400m from the finish of the leg at that time. The runner with me is Martin Walmsley of Manchester University. who I believe would have represented Britain in the 1956 Olympic 1500m if they had taken 3 runners instead of 2. He and I went to the same grammar school.
I believe it was the 5th of 6 legs, I was not in that good shape as I had achilles trouble my final year at IC. I'm afraid I can't remember where IC finished, I know we didn't win but were one of the top teams.
I took over with some deficit to Martin and caught him but he beat me on the run in.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
