Nike Pre-Nationals Predictions?

A lot of speculation around the race this Saturday- any ideas who's going to win it all? Second? Third? Great Oak and Desert Vista are dueling it out on the girls side. Who will win? Predictions? Here are the confirmed high schools:

Individually I'm gonna go with Collins on the girls side, but an upset alert is in effect due to the great oak at Portland factor. Boys side will be Maton then Bloomer then Peloquin not too far behind.

Team wise I think this meet and manhattan will be the best fields team wise besides nxn. On the boys side I think Gig Harbor is really overlooked especially when given their history on the course. However great oak will win, then gig then there's a mixture of teams. Maybe warren or central catholic.

Girls wise it'll be great oak, then desert vista then maybe a fight between league rivals redondo and palos verdes who were only separated by a point in league action on Tuesday. I just can't see Camas squeaking in, CA is just that much stronger than the northwest as a region.

Little confused as to how this meet can be stronger than Woodbridge on the girls side if you see Redondo and PV finishing 3rd and 4th. After all, Redondo finished 11th in team time and 10th in Watchout's Power Merge of the top 27 teams at Woodbridge.

Plus there's this little meet at Mt. Sac in October that will be deeper than any meet in the country and better at the top end than any meet other than NXN and possibly Manhattan.

Unless it's been raining heavily the last few days in Portland and it's in the 30s tomorrow, there won't be an upset in the girls race.

Actually, it was raining pretty good this week. I still don't think there will be an upset in the girls race, though - Great Oak and Desert Vista are just too good for the rest of the teams in the field, though I disagree that Camas and Oakton (and potentially a couple other girls teams) don't have it in them to beat the second tier California contingent led by PV and Redondo.

Boys side is wide open, though Great Oak might have the edge there as well.
