I'm in my senior year of high school xc/track and have decided that I want to walk on to a lower tier D1 school after I graduate.
I visited several competitive DII schools that expressed interest in me over the summer and came to the conclusion that, while I loved their programs, the schools were all too small and not academically a fit for me.
I live in Ohio and am looking at four schools that I would want to go to even if I wasn't running and walking on. Xavier, Miami, Akron, and Toledo (In case it differes from school to school). My current plan is to wait until I've posted my best times and my XC season is over to contact the coaches (mostly because this is my first year of xc and distance running since I used to be purely an 800 guy for my first 3 years of track)
Any advice about walking on will be appreciated.
