So I have a half coming up this weekend. I'm feeling pretty fit and looking for a PR. Any thoughts on where I might be at based on the following info:
- Averaged around 70 mpw for the last 10 to 15 weeks
- Did a 7 mi tempo last week @ 5:42 pace. Was thrilled with this result. Effort was hard, but controlled. I generally try not to overdo tempos.
- Have done plenty of other 4 - 6 mi tempos at anywhere from 5:30s to 5:40s pace
- Maxed out the long run at 17 mi. Did a couple fast finish 14/15 milers with penultimate 2 mi @ 6:00ish and final 2 miles @ 5:40ish.
- Pretty irrelevant, but did a 6 x 400 (400 recovery at 8:00 pace) in 63,70,67,68,68,65
- Recent race: 26:54 for 5mi training through
- The half is my goal race so I've tapered and I'm rested
Based on this info what kind of shape am I in? Any thoughts appreciated.
