Drive a 2003 Nissan Sentra. Repair shop diagnosed the following:
Fails Block Test. Excessive pressure and bubbling in coolant system. Suspect broken head gasket. Request Dealer for tear down.
Not being the most car savvy guy, I ask this to more knowledgeable...Is it worth taking to a dealership and paying them to diagnose? Do I just assume it's head gasket? Rough estimate of parts and labor..I'm not doing it myself!
Car is probably worth maybe $3k at most (according to KBB). 132,000 miles.
If I just go to trade the car in for purchase of a new one, will they even check for anything on this if the car is running fine (which it does run hot and then go back down occasionally..hence why I took it in)? Am I required to say something about it?
Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.
