I am a sophomore in HS who ran distance events my first 2 years of track. A coach had me try some sprints for some speed drills in my 8th grade season and I learned that I had much better times for sprints then distance so I made the switch freshman year. On that year I did good in my two sprint events which were 100m and 400m but always had one issue that held me back, the start of the race. I was familiar with starting block and had no problems with them, but my actual start was always slow compared to people who had been doing sprints for a long time. Is there a way to improve my speed coming out of the blocks at the beginning of a race so I'm not at such of a disadvantage at the staart
