rudisha beaten in last 10 metres by Amos
Rudisha lost to his biggest nemesis: rain
wow Rudisha got SMOKED in the last 50 meters. Too slow first lap for Rudisha. Amos was licking his chops.
god I love Amos, he's gonna go down as the GOAT
Haven't seen a tactical international 800 in a while.
Amos had so much left. I didn't think he was going to be able to get out of the box with 80m to go.
Looked like Rotich was trying to cut in front of Rudisha with 200-150m to go.
Amos 1.45.18
Rudisha 1.45.48
Olivier 1.46.03
Very slow start 53 (well very slow these days)... Amos was extremely boxed in the home stretch and found room just in time. Great race.

i 100% disagree. Rudisha had already tried to run away from people twice this year and it hadn't worked out.
He's a smart cat and adjuted and ran a good race tactically. Take it out relaxed, save something for the last 200 and hope the others have to run extra ground, get caught up, etc.
It nearly worked. 80 meters from home he was pulling away as Amos had to get out of the box.
Amos is a surpreme talent. Some on here are talking about him being the GOAT. I almost feel as if it's disrespectful to Rudisha to mention that but how can you not when he ran 141.73 at 18? That's just the way sports works.
It reminds me a lot of tennis. Federer rises up and is supreme. Just when you think, "It's not possible to play tennis better than that," a guy by the name of Nadal shows up and starts winning. Then before he becomes dominant Djokovic comes up.
Let's hope Rudisha and Amos have a great rivlary for through 2016 maybe even 2020.
Nick Willis has predicted that Rudisha won't lead but will win.
What do you think?

Sorry to burst your bubble but by 2020 folks will be asking, "what ever happened to...?"
Do you think Rudisha would have asked Rotich to try and block Amos? Unlikely, but still . . .
Anyone see the BBC interview afterwards? What did Amos say? Sounded like he was speaking gibberish.
After reading the thread with the guy in his training group giving the lowdown on how Amos went 1:44 after little training last year, it's hard to bet against him. Especially when Rudisha isn't in great form. Their rivalry has huge potential and hopefully the WR is lowered because of it.
From this race, I can conclude, without a doubt, that the only way to have a chance to beat Amos right now(his current shape) is to run the WR or close to that. Aman's season(2013) is over and the game now shifts to Amos. Rudisha still has a chance to redeem himself. With the losses this year especially to Amos, he is going back to Kenya with some work to do! I can almost predict that his 2014 season is over. 2015 will witness fireworks from the two titans and at least one WR in this event with several fast times. Rudisha is not one to hang his spikes after defeat!
Rudisha was trying his best to lower expectations in interviews talking about next year. But commentors were still talking as if he's in 2012 form. Respect, though, for not ducking the competition (all season) even when he knows he's not at his best. He's been beaten this year by everyone who matters in 800m but Solomon. Hope these defeats spur him to form next season.

Fixed that for you.
Splits? Last 400-200-100?
Rudisha was still leading at 600m and split 1:19, which means Amos closed in 25low or 24high!
I don't understand why you Americans don't appreciate Solomon. He has the times, just needs to learn how to race.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
